The Un-tensing Sequence

I recently noticed the exact sequence of what happens when a human nervous system finally un-tenses.

It doesn't happen all at once. It happens in layers, usually looking something like this:

  1. Survival panic drops (the need to hustle just to feel safe).
  2. Shame melts (the fear of not fitting the expected mold).
  3. The identity dissolves (the need to be the "smart guy" or the "fixer").
  4. Grief and compassion emerge (the heart finally breaking open).
  5. A clean voice appears (speaking without spin or strategy).
  6. The illusion is seen through (success and status recognized as projections, not reality).
  7. Quiet spaciousness remains (less noise, more sky).

It isn't a ladder you climb. It isn't a 7-step framework to achieve enlightenment. It is just the natural, mechanical progression of what happens when you finally stop bracing against your own life.
