I recently noticed the exact sequence of what happens when a human nervous system finally un-tenses.
It doesn't happen all at once. It happens in layers, usually looking something like this:
- Survival panic drops (the need to hustle just to feel safe).
- Shame melts (the fear of not fitting the expected mold).
- The identity dissolves (the need to be the "smart guy" or the "fixer").
- Grief and compassion emerge (the heart finally breaking open).
- A clean voice appears (speaking without spin or strategy).
- The illusion is seen through (success and status recognized as projections, not reality).
- Quiet spaciousness remains (less noise, more sky).
It isn't a ladder you climb. It isn't a 7-step framework to achieve enlightenment. It is just the natural, mechanical progression of what happens when you finally stop bracing against your own life.
