A few months ago, I laughed out loud at a shitpost on LinkedIn. It was written by a guy I didn't know at all, completely mocking the platform.
I sent him a connection request simply because I thought he was funny. We got on a Zoom call, shared some stories, and ended up having a few more conversations about potentially doing business together.
There's a reasonable chance we will actually work together. But much more importantly, a real friendship emerged.
When we talk, there is zero posturing. We don't network. We just interweave our personal lives, our professional messes, the practical, and the spiritual, with complete honesty. I’m excited we might work together because of that depth, but I’m elated for the connection even if we never make a dime.
After a call with him this morning, I realized something. If I could just sustain this exact feeling—the profound relief of actual, unscripted human connection—regardless of what happens with my business or my bank account, I'd be living a wonderful life.
