The Subtle Art of Forgiveness

Over the past few years, I’ve been studying A Course in Miracles, where forgiveness is a central theme, and I’ve come to see it differently.

I used to think of forgiveness as pardoning an other for a perceived wrongdoing.

What’s shown up for me recently isn’t noble or spiritual — it’s just like this…

I forgive myself for ever misperceiving us as separate beings.
I forgive myself for thinking that it was my job to judge.
I forgive myself for ever holding a grudge.
I forgive myself for not seeing that all acts are part of a bigger plan.
I forgive myself for not understanding that there no wrong you could possibly do that cannot be undone through love.
I forgive myself for not seeing who you really are.
I forgive myself for not seeing you as an expression of love.
I forgive myself for not seeing anything you've ever done as either an act of love or a cry for love.
And I thank you for being patient with me and allowing me the time I have needed to come to this point of forgiveness.
